I recently bought a new M7060 a couple of months ago and had some questions about what is normal in its operation. I have always driven tractors over 40 years old and I am well versed to repair and keep them running, so I am not a stranger to mechanical problems. I have put about 85 hours in the new 7060 and there are a couple of things that bother me.
First, there is a vibration in the direction when a significant distance from one side is turned on, like when it is packed with roller and the paca is started with the tissue. It is an oscillating vibration that enters and goes out when turning the steering wheel. It feels both on the steering wheel and in the tractor.
The second concern is a constant vibration quite significant when the tractor is at 4×4 and goes in a straight line. It is almost a type of grinding vibration, more remarkable in the upper gears of the low range, reminds me of a differential problem. You could not think that this would have problems of front differential being so new. I have used it during half of your hours doing load work at 4×4. And about 10 hours of work in slippery conditions with a lot of turn.
Any ideas about these problems?
It would be prudent to check the tightening torque of all the nuts on the wheels and any other fixing of the wheels, depending on the style of the wheels it has
In the column / post of the address, directly below the steering wheel if you removed the wheel is a bushing. That bushing is a kind of hard rubber, and it is supposed to absorb the vibration. But what I have seen in the past is that there is not enough lubrication between the bushing and the axis of direction, and do you know what happens when you slip the rubber on a tougher surface? Vibration, squeaks sometimes, etc., only when turning the steering wheel and was something erratic and intermittent apparently.
So what I was doing for a while was to remove the steering wheel, take out the bushing and apply a little silicone base grease. This seemed to solve the problem of vibration. It was a problem for a while, but it seems to have disappeared for the most part. Most of the time it was ROPS tractors (open station, without cabin), but some cabins too. I imagine that the fact that the Rops tractors were exposed to the weather could have something to do with it, while the booths used to help protect the bushings from the element direction poles. It’s just a theory, without real evidence that supports it, but I keep it.
